    What Guys Are Saying

    No More Neck Burn
    10 Cents A Blade
    First Shave, No Nicks

    Technical specifications

Material: aluminum and zamak, microbrushed matte finish

    Total weight: 60 g (head 33 g, handle 27 g)

Handle length: 100 mm (3.9 in)

Head: closed comb, Clamp-30 (blade held along its full edge at a fixed 30°)

Blade exposure: minimal, for a mild, safe shave

    Assembly: 3-piece

Blades: standard double-edge (DE) blades, any brand, about 10 cents each

Ships with 100 standard DE blades, about three years of shaving

The Wardlow Original is built for balance: light enough to steer, heavy enough to do the work. The 30° angle is machined into the head, so the blade cuts efficiently without digging in. Made for men who have never used a safety razor.

    How to use it

The angle is already set, so there is nothing to find. Rest it on the skin and it shaves.

    1. Lay it flat against your skin. Start your first stroke with the head flat on the skin. In this position the blade does not cut yet. It lets you begin the motion safely and feel the razor's contact.
    2. Tilt slightly until it touches. Tilt the handle a few degrees and the blade reaches its touch point, the angle where it starts cutting the hair cleanly without scraping the skin. With the 30° built into the head, you find it without thinking.

One pass with the grain. No pressure, the weight does the work. Canned gel is fine, no brush needed.

    Care

Brush off dust with a soft brush. For a mark, dab with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it dry flat away from heat. No washing machine, no dryer, no iron. Between wears, hang it by the door or rest it on its crown, never on the peak.

    No pivot, no springs

A better angle. A better grip on the blade.

Before regular use vs. after regular use over several weeks.

    Before
    After

Most razors let the blade move. It flexes, it chatters, it drifts off its angle mid-stroke. That is the tug you feel, and that is why your neck is red the next morning.

The Wardlow Original holds one blade rigid, clamped along its full edge at a fixed 30 degrees. It sits proud by less than the width of a hair. Enough to cut clean in one pass. Not enough to dig in.

    Solid, and easy to hold

Really well made razor. Easy to hold, you can even press a little. Going over my Adam's apple was smooth, and that's where I always cut myself.

What Our Customers Are Saying About Our Caps

Forty one years of cartridges and I assumed the red neck was just my skin. Wife pointed at it once in a photo from a wedding. Bought this on the hundred day thing figuring I would send it back. First morning I laid it flat like the card said, one pass down, did not touch it again. Next day my neck was just my neck. No brush, no bowl, I use the same gel from the can I always did.

I put off safety razors for years because every video is a guy with a badger brush and a bowl explaining angles for eleven minutes. There is no angle to find on this one. It is machined into the head. You rest it on your face and pull down. Took me about the same time as my Mach 3 by the third morning, and the tug under my jaw is gone. Adam's apple was the part I was scared of and it went over it fine.

The box in the picture is a hundred blades. Twelve dollars if I had paid for it, and it came in the box anyway. I was spending four bucks a cartridge and stretching it three weeks to justify it, which I now understand is why my neck looked the way it did. Ten cents a blade means I change it when it needs changing. That alone fixed half of it.

    Nothing moves but your hand.

     Image

A cartridge is built to move. The head pivots, the blades flex, and the edge slips off its angle mid-stroke. That slip is the tug you feel under your jaw. Clamp-30 holds one blade rigid at 30 degrees, so there is nothing left to slip.

    Your questions answered

Will it fit my head? I wear an XL.

Yes. Two brass side buckles adjust from 20.5 to 24.4 inches, hat size 6 1/2 to 7 3/4. If you are at the top of the range, open both buckles fully before the first wear. And you have 100 days to be sure.

Isn't a flat cap an old man's hat?

That is what most men think until the mirror. The baseball cap was the thing making them look old. A flat cap sits low and clean and reads as a choice, not a habit.

Will it be too hot in summer?

No. It is washed cotton, not polyester, so it breathes. Wheat and Prairie Olive run coolest in the sun. Stovepipe Black and Mill Indigo are the winter favorites.

    What is your return policy?

100 days. Wear it, walk in it, decide. If it does not sit right, email us and we send a prepaid label. Full refund or a swap for another color, no restocking fee, no questions.
